If you'd like to receive announcements of new additions to this site, Hardware such as this device offers a number of advantages over existing platforms.Paul's 8051 Tools, Projects and Free Code Mailing List As a precursor to further work, the authors determined to port TinyOS to a second generation platform, namely the Chipcon CC2430. TinyOS enjoys a symbiotic relationship with the application being developed, nesC, and the GNU Compiler Collection (gcc). Much research in this field involves the development of applications using the TinyOS operating system. The issues are associated with both TinyOS-2.0 and the nesC language that it is written in. Specifically, TinyOS s reliance on the GNU Compiler Collection being available for the wireless sensor network device, the use of connection-dependent abstractions and their impact on system-on-chip devices, and the reuse of components within chip families. Core issues that limit the portability of TinyOS-2.x are identified, and suggestions made as to how these might be addressed.
